Existem por aí muitas pequenas editoras musicais a dar cartas num mercado cada vez mais concorrencial, tal é o número de novos lançamentos nos mais diversos estilos. Mas há uma que actualmente me tem chamado mais à atenção pelos lançamentos de qualidade que apresenta; refiro-me à Húngara Loud Rage Music. A sua mais recente proposta chega da Holanda num estilo Blackned Death Metal executado pelo quarteto Tragacanth. O que parecia ser fácil de explicar acaba por se tornar um pouco mais complexo, por isso vamos por partes.
A começar pelo estilo musical, rotular a banda com o crossover Black/Death peca por [muito] escasso. E isso nota-se logo no single de avanço do álbum de estreia “Anthology of the East”, “Edimmu”. Os pouco mais de 8 minutos da maior faixa deste trabalho são um verdadeiro compêndio, senão vejamos: inicia com uma passagem mais Black Sinfónico que abre caminho às rápidas guitarras ao estilo Thrash; ali pelo meio da faixa enveredam por uma toada mais Progressiva e Épica intercalada com o Death Melódico, terminando com um fade out de piano, o que confere maior grandiosidade a todo o brilhante arranjo. Poderia ficar por aqui e já teriam uma ideia deste álbum mas... ainda há mais. Outra das sonoridades utilizada pela banda remete-nos para paisagens arábicas, não só em termos de percussão (“Birth of a Godess”) como do destaque dado aos címbalos.
Pegando na deixa do exotismo passámos para o lirismo. Todas as letras versam sobre a antiga Babilónia, as suas lendas e contos. Nada de novo aqui não fosse o facto de esta banda ser oriunda da Europa. Vemos outras a optar por musicar sobre civilizações antigas mas geralmente estão de algum modo a elas ligadas; aqui esse elo não existe mas não penaliza em nada na musicalidade da banda, até porque conseguem passar muito bem esse exotismo nas suas canções.
Estes senhores mostram que sabem o que fazem; pegando em diversas sonoridades criaram arranjos musicais de belíssimo recorte técnico e sonoro, imbuídos de uma essência mística fruto da temática escolhida. Como estreia, “Anthology of the East” é sem dúvida um álbum de qualidade e exemplar cartão-de-visita. A banda é jovem mas muito experiente; não querendo compará-los a outras mais sonantes, a manterem esta qualidade augura-se um futuro auspicioso que certamente lhes granjeará um merecido lugar ao Sol.

A little bit everywhere there are small music publishers dealing cards regarding new releases in a very competitive market, full of new albuns in various genres. But there is one that has been getting my attention by the quality shown; I’m refering to Hungarian Loud Rage Music. It’s most recent rooster addiction comes from Holland in a Blackned Death Metal style played by Tragacanth’s quartet. What seemed easy to explain became a little more complex so let us go in order.
Starting by the musical style, labeling the band as a Black/Death crossover isn’t [quite] enough. and we can tell that by the first single “Edimmu” from their debut album “Anthology of the East”. The little bit over 8 minute biggest track of the entire album is a real musical compendium, so let’s see: it starts with a Symphonic Black tune that make ways to speedy Thrash guitars; somewhere in the middle they make an Epic Progressive approach interleaved with Melodic Death, finalizing with a piano fade out that gives grandeur to the entire musical arrangement. I could stop here and you’ll have a pretty good idea of the album but… there’s more. One other sonority the band uses takes us to arabic passages, not only in terms of percussion (“Birth of a Godess”) but also in the highlight given to the cymbals.
Picking the exotic cue we head now to the lyrics. All lyrics are based in ancient Babylon’s tales and myths. Nothing new here if it wasn’t for the fact that the band comes from Europe. We see others choosing ancient civilizations to write about but they are somewhat related to them; that bond doesn’t exist here but it doesn’t penalise the music because that mystical and exotic message is well present in their songs.
This boys show what they do best; picking up several sonorities they’ve created beautiful arrangement, both technical and sound, imbued with a mystical essence resulting from the chosen theme. As a debut, “Anthology of the East” is without a doubt a quality album and an excellent visit card. The band is young but very experienced; not wanting to compare them to renown ones, keeping this quality level can fortel a bright future and for sure grant them a well deserved place in the scene.
