Huldre - Tusmørke

O que acontece quando se cruzam os uivos dos lobos ao luar, os grunhidos dos trolls da floresta, a jovialidade dos elfos e a doçura das fadas? O resultado só podia ser mágico e belo, aqui representado pelos Dinamarqueses Huldre.

Com o seu folk metal xamânico inspirado no folclore Nórdico, os Huldre apresentam agora o seu segundo trabalho intitulado “Tusmørke” que vem reforçar a boa imagem deixada pelo álbum de estreia “Intet Menneskebarn”. Uma das coisas que mais me agradou no seu som foi a forma como equilibraram o peso do metal nas melodias, não deixando que se sobrepusesse à sonoridade medieval; isso, aliado ao uso de instrumentos como o realejo e a flauta e a voz hipnotizante de Nanna Barslev são os ingredientes perfeitos para conseguirem criar o ambiente místico que emana das suas composições..

Ao segundo álbum os Huldre não inovaram, não mudaram nem complicaram, limitaram-se a continuar o brilhante caminho traçado no trabalho de estreia. Dito desta forma parece pouco mas por vezes na simplicidade dos atos reside a genialidade dos resultados; “Tusmørke” é a prova disso.

What happens when the moonlight howlings of the wolves, the forest troll's grunts, the joviality of the elves and the sweetness of the fairies cross together? The result could only be magical and beautiful, here represented by Danish Huldre.

With their shamanic folk metal inspired by Northerns folklore, Huldre present now their sophomore album titled “Tusmørke” which strengthens the good image left by the debut album “Intet Menneskebarn”. One of the things that most pleased me in their sound was the way they balanced the weight of metal in the melodies, not letting it overlap the medieval sonority; that, combined with the use of instruments such as hurdy gurdy and the flute and the mesmerizing voice of Nanna Barslev are the perfect ingredients to attain a mystical environment that emanates from their songs.

In this second album Huldre didn’t innovate, didn’t change nor complicate, they simply continued the brilliant path set on the debut work. Said this way it may not sound much but sometimes in the simplicity of actions lies the geniality of the results; “Tusmørke” it’s proof of that.
