A banda Grega Terra IncΩgnita é um coletivo que assenta a sua sonoridade num misto de metal tradicional com elementos mais modernos, cujo resultado são músicas com uma forte componente melódica e progressiva acompanhadas por guitarras fortes. Após alguns anos parados e já com nova formação e ideias frescas, regressam em 2015 com o EP “Sign With Blood” lançado em 2016. Quatro temas que se movem em diversas direcções com “My Emptiness” a enveredar por uma vertente mais clássica do metal com um solo orelhudo, numa faixa plena de melodia mas com pouco “peso”; já na faixa 2 “Conquerer” entra por caminhos predominantemente power metal com uma aura de épico, para o qual contribui em muito a belíssima voz de Billy Vass, abrindo caminho para a faixa título “Sign With Blood”, esta sim já com peso nas guitarras e bem acompanhadas pela voz gutural resultando numa música mais madura e mais consistente com as reais capacidades da banda. O EP fecha com a música “Efialtes”, inicialmente presente no álbum de estreia “Barren Land” mas agora cantada em Inglês.
Este trabalho revela uma banda com sede de mostrar do que é capaz após uma longa paragem, servindo igualmente para dar um vislumbre do que por aí vem com o próximo trabalho, um álbum conceptual intitulado “Fragments of a Ruined Mind”, que pela amostra certamente fará as delícias dos amantes do metal de requintes técnicos e melódicos.

Greek band Terra IncΩgnita is a group that bases its sonority in a mix of traditional heavy metal with modern elements, whose result are musics with a strong melodic and progressive approach accompanied by strong guitars. After some years of absence and with a renewed formation and fresh ideas, they came back in 2015 with the EP “Sign With Blood” released in 2016. Four tracks that diverge in different directions with “My Emptiness” embarking on a more classical metal approach with a catchy solo in a track full of melody yet lacking some “weight”; on track 2 “Conquerer” goes through paths predominantly power metal with an epic aura, for that greatly contributing Billy Vass’ beautiful voice, opening ways for the title track “Sign With Blood”, this one with strong guitars and well accompanied by guttural voice which results in a more mature song and more consistent with the band’s real capacities. The EP ends with “Efialtes”, firstly appearing in the debut album “Barren Land” but now sang in English.
This work reveals a band eager to show what she’s capable of after a long hiatus, also working as a glimpse of what to expect from their next work, a sophomore conceptual album called “Fragments of a Ruined Mind”, that will certainly delight fans of technical and melodic metal.
