Talvez porque recentemente estiveram no nosso país, o concerto dos Tindersticks na Casa da Música não esgotou mas também não foram muitos os lugares vazios. E foram mesmo esses que ficaram a perder pois o concerto teve um pouco de tudo, desde partes mais intimistas até alturas em que os instrumentos pareciam ganhar uma energia efusiva. Numa altura em que a banda está na estrada a promover o seu novo trabalho “The Waiting Room”, esta última paragem de uma viagem que se iniciou em Lisboa e passou ainda por Coimbra trouxe também alguns temas clássicos, tais como “Johnny Guitar” e “A Night So Still”.
O quinteto Britânico focou-se (obviamente) mais no seu último trabalho; e como era para cantar que eles lá estavam, aparte isso da boca de Stuart Staples apenas saia um “thank you” no final de cada música. A sua atuação pautou-se principalmente pela calma mas houve momentos que arrebataram o público, tais como “Hey Lucinda”, “We Are Dreamers!” e “Show Me Everything”. De destacar também a troca de Dan McKinna por David Boulter para o tema “The Waiting Room” em que só estava ele e Stuart no palco, juntando-se depois Earl Harvin e continuando agora só os dois para o tema instrumental “Planting Holes”. Antes da última música, tempo para um agradecimento ao público presente e votos de que a boa relação que mantém com o nosso país se mantenha por muitos mais anos. Depois de quase 2 minutos a serem aplaudidos de pé por toda a plateia, era difícil não voltarem para um encore, com os temas “Sometimes It Hurts” e “The Oblivion”.

Maybe because recently they were in our country, Tindersticks’ concert at Casa da Música hadn't sold out but there weren’t that many empty chairs. And those were the ones who lost because the concert had a little bit of everything, from more intimate moments until times where the instruments looked like they gain some effusive energy. In a time where the band is on tour promoting its newest work “The Waiting Room”, this last stop from a journey that started in Lisbon and also passed by Coimbra brought also some classic songs like “Johnny Guitar” and “A Night So Still”.
The British quintet focused (obviously) in its latest work; and if they were there for singing, apart from that from Stuart Staples mouth came only a “thank you” at the end of each song. His performance was mostly calm but there were some moments that drew the public such as “Hey Lucinda”, “We Are Dreamers!” and “Show Me Everything”. Highlight also to the switch between Dan McKinna for David Boulter to the song “The Waiting Room” in which only he and Stuart were on stage, joined afterwards by Earl Harvin and continuing now only two to the instrumental song “Planting Holes”. Before the last song time to thank the audience and vows that the good relation they maintain with our country endures for many years. After almost 2 minutes of a standing ovation by everyone it was difficult not to return for an encore with the songs “Sometimes It Hurts” and “The Oblivion”.
