Triple Thrash Attack

Heavy Thrashers M.O.R.G. ("Music Of a Revolutionary Generation") officially released their debut album "Nightmare Of Sound" last Friday, 5th June, in a gig at Cave 45, a bar/concert house in Oporto. To that event they’ve invited 2 more bands, Evillution and Toxik Attack.

Evillution were the ones opening the “Triple Thrash Attack” event with a Death/Thrash well played. Although a band with some line-up changes in a short time of activity they played really well, the only thing it didn’t sound so good to me were the vocals; i think it’s something the band needs to focus on so it equals their sound. Apart from that very nice performance with the disadvantage of being the first on stage, while the audience was still warming up.

Open road for Toxik Attack concert. Not that they needed it has shown since the first chords. Old school Thrash Metal at full speed was the recipe for success, grabbing the audience and involving them in continuous mosh pitts and neck breaking headbangs. Old school sound for an old school atmosphere.

Finally the band of the night, M.O.R.G.. Being around for nearly 11 years and only now releasing their debut makes us wonder why. The world of music industry is a very tough business but seeing bands like this one not giving up and releasing such an album gives us a feeling of a job well done. “Classical” Heavy Thrash but with a freshness in the sound, well played and with a very good stage presence is more than enough to describe what they’ve done. The audience was thrilling and enjoying every piece of it. Needless to say they’ve played the entire album.

Just one more thing, could not forget the audience. Unfortunately not often we see such a numerous crowd at local gigs, a special thanks for the ones there enhancing the night.

Finally, wish to thank Music In my Soul for the invitation, Cave 45 for the hospitality and the bands for the awesome night. See you next time.
